After many years of wandering through cities and ports of call, you begin to get a sense of what to look for without stepping foot into a store. From a distance you’ll notice a distinct pattern of similarity. The same t-shirts and common items will appear in window after window. However, a few streets back you might notice a storefront that has a unique window display without they typical tourist items. Visit this store. Anyone who has cruised before knows that at the cruise terminal the main stores are for diamonds, cheap t-shirts, and duty free libations. It’s only rarely that a good shop or a kiosk will be really close to your ship.
Rent is a factor for all merchants, so the shops sitting a little farther back will no doubt be more unique. Boutiques with one of a kind gifts and better quality products are always a treasure to find. Again, cash is always suggested for safety sake and a travel wallet that you can conceal is ideal.
