We’ve been to St. Thomas many times over the years, and Godfrey Tours St. Thomas is on my favorites list. I remember when I learned about Godfrey Tours. Godfrey came highly recommended by many cruisers online who had shared their experience on a BBS forum many years ago. Godfrey’s business is family owned and operated, and he takes pride in showing you his island. Although hurricanes have impacted his island, he has worked hard to remain a top tour on St. Thomas. Look over his tours and see what’s best for you. You might want to tour the island, or perhaps you want to just shop and hit the beach. It’s your day. Enjoy it.

We love Godfrey Tours – St. Thomas

We have been to several beaches on St. Thomas, and our personal favorite is Magens Bay. Admittedly, we read Fodors Travel Guides and watch all the Rick Steve’s shows that we can. We select our beaches based upon both reviews and what the travel experts say, and we have not been let down yet. There is a small admittance fee of $4.00 per person to get into Magens Bay Park. It’s worth it.

Now if you do drink alcohol, then while on St. Thomas you’ll want to try a Pain Killer. It’s one of the signature drinks and they will take your order on the beach and deliver it to you. If you want food, it’s there but you have to go get in line for it. I wish I had a photo of the pizza to share with you. All I can say, is this pizza is an extremely unexpected treat. It’s about as close to a true New York pizza as you will find, and the best we have had in all of our island hopping years from any of our Caribbean ports of call. Seriously. Try the pizza.

It is very important to note that spray suntan lotions are now forbidden and the beach attendants WILL speak to you and make you stop applying it, directing you to an area away from the water. Be sure bring to non-spray suntan lotion with you. The water at Magens Bay is not really very crowded at all. The food shack is popular, and the beach is narrow and space can become a premium. Yet somehow, as you gaze out across Magens Bay, that seems to escape you and the calm, blue water beckons you in after a slice of pizza and a drink. Peace.

St. Thomas’s Best Beaches

Coki beach offers wonderful snorkeling, and is also an enjoyable beach day. ACoki beach is wonderful for snorkeling. Plan to bring a large Milkbone Dog Biscuit with you. They also sell them and rent snorkel gear but you’ll enjoy feeding the fish on your own right out of your hand and so will the kids! The Coki Beach fish LOVE Milkbone brand dog biscuits. Sapphire beach is also quite lovely. Godfrey will take you to any of these three beaches as a part of the tour. Just let him know which one, and when you want to be picked up.
