If you’re looking for something different to do, look into Greg’s Safaris St. Kitts. These excursions are reasonably priced, professionally guided and unique. We did the rain-forest tour, which took us up in to the mountain and onto a trail that Greg himself had made. He is a magnificent guide and took the time to explain the area, the fauna and the wildlife to us. There was rum punch, juice and a light snack waiting for us afterwards. He has other tours as well. He has great reviews and certificates of excellence on Trip Advisor as well. This is a great option! You must book in advance. We suggest doing this several months out.

There are a number of options offered by Greg’s Safaris St. Kitts. We booked the rain forest hike. Our ages ranged from 20’s to 70 years old. The hike was between moderate and strenuous and slippery in places. Wear hiking boots or shoes. Greg was our guide and the group was able to all keep pace together. There were perhaps a dozen of us. There was a pool up on the mountain, a natural spring. You can take a dip in it so wear a bathing suit. The group stopped, and photos were taken for those who asked.

Greg’s Safaris St. Kitts delicious refreshments

Once we returned to the jeep there was rum punch and juice and fresh fruit snacks which were lovely. The views and wildlife were breathtaking. Greg made sure to point out the names of the different plant types we came across on the hike. He takes great pride in living on St. Kitts and loves his rain forest. He’s a wonderful guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our day with him up on the mountain.

Back to town with time to spare for shopping

Greg makes sure to drop you back in town near the cruise port, allowing plenty of time for shopping before you return to your ship. There are islanders who have trained monkeys walking around, and for a few dollars you can take a photo with a monkey on your arm or head. I admit, I did it and it’s one of my favorites.
